The  origin story

AnyA, Anne & Elisa

The Good Circle was born on a sunny morning whilst 3 friends –Anya, Anne and Elisa– had a little chat followed by some brainstorming about how it could be possible to find and connect with like-minded and creative people on Mallorca – being such a cosmopolitan city with so few options to meet new cool people. To find or create a creative and artsy but also safe space for people to meet people, without any social awkwardness, was their main motivation. It took over a year to shape the idea and concept before the girls were able to host the first TGC event.

By now, you probably are familiar with what TGC is about (if not, you can click here to learn more), so now, let’s talk a little about the girls:

Anne Scott is originally from Scotland, but boy has she traveled. She’s lived all over the world and finally found a home in Mallorca. She is the founder of Girl Gone International – the world’s largest online meets in real life community and platform for women who live outside their birth country, either by choice or other circumstances. With over 1 million active members of over 300 local hubs, GGI has hosted over 30,000 free events to connect women and help them make friends. Therefore, she brought some extremely valuable ideas as well as expertise about creating a great and strong community.

Originally from London, Anya Defries’ path also led her to Mallorca, where she has now settled. She has worked in media production for over 15 years and, parallel to her day-to-day business, she grew her passion for art and is now an established artist, with her works being shown at Kaplan Projects in Palma. Not only has her amazing work and art brought us amazing pieces, but she also created the wonderful logo of TGC! With all her knowledge and creative expertise she brought some fundamental ideas and support into The Good Circle.

Elisa Doehne, German but raised in Mallorca, has lived in a few cities before settling back in her hometown, Palma. She is a published author and loves everything that comes with creativity. With very good connections on the island and a very mixed group of individuals around her, growing the initial idea of TGC was natural to her; so after a year of successful events that Anne, Anya and Elisa had hosted together, it was decided that Elisa would fully take over this project.

You will most probably still meet Anne and Anya at the events, flowing in the crowd and sharing some amazing stories – so make sure you get the chance to talk to them! Elisa will remain your main host for all future events, while being supported by some other great people, acting as sporadic hosts.

We look forward to see you in the circle soon!

“The good circle is an experience in every way. Art, music framed in an ever-changing location. It is the perfect setting to meet new people, talk and have fun. An experience that I would repeat with no hesitation."

Elisenda A.

"The Good Circle is getting out of your comfort zone, meeting incredible different people, talking to strangers and ending up having great conversations where you learn, open your mind and enjoy every moment. Elisa, the organizer - an earthquake of a woman, that I am lucky enough to know, admire and love - is the icing on the cake of the event. No detail is left out and she never stops surprising with her games and chats, and her presence there is more than necessary to feel at home. In addition, she is always thinking about others, supporting art in all its forms and helping artists to make themselves known. Definitely, a place where art, people, good music and games come together... what can go wrong?!!”

Patricia C.

“Edu and I went to the same high school but to different courses. We always got along great and lost contact after all the years. It was great to meet again at TGC events after so many years, catch up and still have so many things in common 💖 Even living in such a small city we had never met, and it was super nice!”

Rocío M.

"Wow, well, my The Good Circle experience has been very, very special. At all events that I have attended, I have met super fun people, who have later become clients, friends or co-workers. In fact, one of them was Juan, who turned out to be the director of an incredible location, where I wanted to carry out a cultural project. In the end, a super fruitful friendship + work relationship emerged that is bringing us both a lot of joy. Another plus of TGC is their live music. The groups are always great and create a very cool atmosphere. Do not miss the events that are about to come, also always in different and special places. Magic circle, fun circle, good circle ✨”

"I've been coming to Mallorca for over 10 summers, and it's always been a bit hard for me to meet people and feel like I truly belong on the island. I met some people, but I always felt that social circles were quite closed, hard to access, and not very mixed. The Good Circle is an incredible initiative that breaks through cliques and social awkwardness, helping you expand your own circle and meet people from all walks of life. I've attended two TGC events and it completely changed my social life on the island. I met an amazing yoga teacher who took me to incredible morning classes by the sea. I've made friends I’ve gone partying with, had coffee with, and talked business and hobbies with. I even met people I'm now traveling with in Bali—months after the event. The Good Circle truly is about building community beyond closed groups. There’s always good vibes, great music, and an amazing atmosphere."

Roberto R.

"My experience as a host is truly rewarding because you get to see how the people who attend the events genuinely want to meet others. They come in with great energy and an open attitude, ready to bring the best of themselves. They arrive as strangers, but by the end of the event, they go home as friends—and that’s the most beautiful part of this project. It opens a window to meet new people who resonate on your same frequency."

Pedro A.

"Of all the experiences The Good Circle has brought me, without a doubt, the one that stands out is the incredible surprise I had at the very first event. The organization did such an amazing job that the event’s game led me—almost without realizing it—to cross paths with someone and instantly feel that “you and I have met before” kind of moment. But not the usual kind of “met before” like bumping into someone at a bar one day, or through mutual friends, or at some random party. No—it was the kind of feeling where you’re reuniting with someone who makes you think, “uh, wow, you probably knew a version of me from a time that even my closest friends here don’t know about.” So the magic of it all was that I got to reconnect with a childhood friend—one of those you probably played with in the schoolyard… or maybe not, who knows. After 20 years, a lot can happen, right? Hahaha. What a wonderful thing The Good Circle is!"

Eduardo M.

"Sara and I used to cross paths every day on a street near my workplace. I noticed her, but I wasn’t sure if it was mutual. When I arrived at The Good Circle and saw her there, I ran into her during the game and said, “I know you!” At first, she played it cool—but then she admitted that yes, it was mutual, and that she actually walked down that street on purpose. To her, I was “the guy with the mustache.” That night, we laughed a lot... and well, that’s all I’ll say. Today, almost a year later, Sara and I are good friends. We see each other often and have even worked together on a few projects. Thank you, The Good Circle."

Ricardo V.

"Attending the Good Circle was truly an incredible experience. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by Eli and her team, who were absolutely lovely and made us feel right at home. The energy at the event was contagious, with a vibe that was dynamic and fun all the way through, with games and activities that made it super easy to connect with all sorts of different people. Everything just flowed so naturally—I met so many amazing people, and especially one of my current best friends, with whom I've had countless adventures, like our trip to Indonesia, and now we're heading to Africa to celebrate his birthday. I truly believe that if you want to meet new people and expand your circle, there's no better event than this one. Everyone goes there with that same intention, bringing tons of genuine, high energy!"
