KNOW MORE
The Good Circle was born on a sunny morning whilst 3 friends –Anya, Anne and Elisa– had a little chat followed by some brainstorming about how it could be possible to find and connect with like-minded and creative people on Mallorca – being such a cosmopolitan city with so few options to meet new cool people. To find or create a creative and artsy but also safe space for people to meet people, without any social awkwardness, was their main motivation. It took over a year to shape the idea and concept before the girls were able to host the first TGC event.
By now, you probably are familiar with what TGC is about (if not, you can click here to learn more), so now, let’s talk a little about the girls:
Anne Scott is originally from Scotland, but boy has she traveled. She’s lived all over the world and finally found a home in Mallorca. She is the founder of Girl Gone International – the world’s largest online meets in real life community and platform for women who live outside their birth country, either by choice or other circumstances. With over 1 million active members of over 300 local hubs, GGI has hosted over 30,000 free events to connect women and help them make friends. Therefore, she brought some extremely valuable ideas as well as expertise about creating a great and strong community.
Originally from London, Anya Defries’ path also led her to Mallorca, where she has now settled. She has worked in media production for over 15 years and, parallel to her day-to-day business, she grew her passion for art and is now an established artist, with her works being shown at Kaplan Projects in Palma. Not only has her amazing work and art brought us amazing pieces, but she also created the wonderful logo of TGC! With all her knowledge and creative expertise she brought some fundamental ideas and support into The Good Circle.
Elisa Doehne, German but raised in Mallorca, has lived in a few cities before settling back in her hometown, Palma. She is a published author and loves everything that comes with creativity. With very good connections on the island and a very mixed group of individuals around her, growing the initial idea of TGC was natural to her; so after a year of successful events that Anne, Anya and Elisa had hosted together, it was decided that Elisa would fully take over this project.
You will most probably still meet Anne and Anya at the events, flowing in the crowd and sharing some amazing stories – so make sure you get the chance to talk to them! Elisa will remain your main host for all future events, while being supported by some other great people, acting as sporadic hosts.
We look forward to see you in the circle soon!
